Jo loves her sport, so much sport. If you start a sports conversation with Jo you need to be prepared for two things:
1) You'd better have a lot of time because Jo knows her sport.
2) You'd better have sound arguments as she'll tear them apart!
Why do you love following sport?
Really not sure. I like the spectacular-ness of it (not a word I know but you get it!). I like how sport can have such an impact on the community and big issues and really drive social and community cohesion. Sport is a platform for so much more than just sport i.e. Kapernick movement
Which sports are you passionate about?
Basketball (NBA), Gridiron (NFL), AFL. I also like cricket and virtually any sport except soccer!

| On the Laker's bandwagon! |
Brisbane Lions, Miami Heat, NE Patriots, NY Jets, Any team Lebron plays for because he’s the best to watch!
What have been the favourite events you've attended?
Pats v Jets, Lions v Collingwood (back when both teams were actually good), Bears v Vikings (Chicago do an awesome job of fan engagement #beardown)
What's the best game you've watched?
Geez that’s a tough one. Can I have one per sport? Lions V Pies 2002 GF (Buckley crying on the field was a special moment), Game 6 Miami v Spurs Finals 2013 (Ray Ray for OT), Pats v Seahawks Superbowl (Butler’s intercept on a certain TD). Last year’s Patriots comeback was AMAZING but really it was only the fourth quarter that was the best!
Funniest thing you've seen at a sporting event?
Probably my GOAT friends, although the ODIs used to offer some pretty funny outfits.

Have you watched sport overseas? If so what ideas would you bring back to Australian events?
Yes. Besides the athletes? Haha Definitely the fan engagement. They just do it so well. The technology they use is light-years ahead of some of ours. Not that we are terrible (AFL Finals promotion in train stations was pretty awesome), they just have so much more money and a bigger pool of fans to draw on.
Who are you all time sporting heroes?
Lebron. Hands down. Not only for the spectacular athlete that he is, but also the work that he does off the court. He spends so many millions of his own money to better his community and those around him. He has invested 41 million dollars to send poorer kids from Ohio to college and is working on opening a school (along with all the other charities that works with and/or runs). He uses his platform as one of the world’s biggest athletes to do so much good. He’s more than just an athlete. But he’s an absolute beast on the court!
What sporting programs are must watch?
Personally, I like PTI, Around the Horn, Jalen and Jalen and The Jump. I’m not a huge fan of any Australian sports talk back shows really.
Any other comments?
Nah I think you’ve covered it!
Thanks Jo!
